In conjunction with the project “Happiness for Children in Ouakam,” the Ouakam kindergarten in Dakar, Senegal is being expanded and renovated and provided with age appropriate equipment.

The very poor community of Ouakam is home to almost 12,000 people many of them women and children. The project “Happiness for Children in Ouakam” envisions an improved educational infrastructure in the area of early childhood education. Through the renovation of the existing classrooms, the expansion of two additional classrooms and the availability of age appropriate equipment, the precarious situation has been permanently improved.
Through our construction, the children have been provided with a safe and age appropriate learning environment that will further support their development. Working mothers can continue at their jobs without worrying about childcare. This project contributed to a serious improvement in the quality of life for children and mothers of Ouakam.
