Clean and safe Drinking Water for Dabacounda / Gambia
The project “A Solar-Powered Borehole for Dabacounda – The Gambia” sustainably improved access to safe drinking water for 622 residents in 2024. Previously, the village’s only well would dry up—especially in April—exposing the population, particularly children under the age of 10, to waterborne diseases. Through the construction of a mini borehole with a solar pump, household taps, and hygiene training for women, waterborne diseases were reduced, living conditions strengthened, and a significant contribution made to SDG 6.
