In the region of Minsk, many people, mostly children, are suffering from the long-term effects of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
In the entire country there is only one children’s cancer clinic. Parents and their children make the long journey to the clinic hopeful that they will find the medical care they direly need.
In 2011, The UNESCO foundation supported the cancer clinic with the purchase of a much needed laser to treat very ill children.
Also the workshop for socioeconomically disadvantaged adolescents was financially supported by the Foundation in 2011.
