Complete renovation, expansion, and modernization of the municipal health and maternal-child unit

The health project aims to reorganize the premises, clearly separate patient flows, and expand existing capacities. Since October 2025, extensive work has been prepared on relocating the waiting area, redesigning the interior, expanding the neonatal ward, and renovating the sanitary facilities. The aim is to improve the infrastructure, organization, and capacities of the Cité Mame Dior maternity ward in order to provide women, children, and families with better access to high-quality, inclusive primary care.

Project Objective:

  • Improve access to quality primary healthcare
  • Strengthen maternal and newborn health services
  • Modernize maternity ward infrastructure
  • Reorganize functional workflows and patient flows
  • Expand service capacity for growing demand
  • Creation of structural conditions necessary to enhance patient privacy and provide adequate care for more women and newborns

  • Presentation to management committee and local authorities
  • Coordination with health district and technical services
  • Validation of technical concept
  • Launch and implementation of tender process
  • Joint site visit with construction companies
  • Selection of most economically advantageous bidder
  • Development of operational action plan (Q1/2026)
  • Planning of equipment procurement, staff training and community outreach
