Support for urgent psychosocial and educational programs for children in the Gaza Strip
In the Gaza Strip, people affected by the war, especially children, continue to suffer despite the ceasefire. The aid supply situation remains catastrophic, and the infrastructure is completely destroyed. Food and water shortages, living in temporary tents or shelters, displacement, lack of medical care, and many other major challenges have taken a heavy toll on the people—and there is no end in sight!
The children, traumatized by war, often injured and severely malnourished, have no resources left – they are facing destitution and need immediate help.
We want to strengthen their mental well-being, promote their resilience, and, step by step, give them their “childhood” back.
With the destruction of schools, an entire generation is at risk of losing its education and future.
Through combined educational and psychosocial services in temporary spaces, we want to open up new perspectives for these children and pave the way for them to a more hopeful and peaceful world.
The project focuses on creating immediate learning spaces that serve as inclusive and protected environments for informal education and holistic support. These spaces promote the resumption and continuity of learning and the resilience of children affected by displacement, trauma, and violence.
The central activities of the project are:
- Establishment and operation of temporary learning spaces equipped with the necessary materials
- Implementation of non-formal education programs for 480 children
- Accompanying support for 90 particularly affected children at high risk, survivors of violence, and children who have lost their families
- Psychotherapeutic support for over 200 children through basic counseling, individual and group therapy, and specialized speech therapy
- Provision of educational opportunities and age-appropriate child protection for vulnerable children, including children with disabilities and children separated from their families
- Training for teachers
- Playful activities
- Tailored support from professionals
Enable children severely traumatized by war to participate in education again.
Every contribution towards a return to humanity, dignity, and normality is of the utmost value to children affected by war!
Thank you very much!
