Ute-Henriette Ohoven is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Honorary President of the <em>ZNS<\/em> \u2013 Hannelore Kohl Foundation (President until 2011) and Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Senegal.\u00a0 She is married to Mario Ohoven, President of <em>Bundesverbandes mittelst\u00e4ndische Wirtschaft e.V. (BVMW)<\/em> as well as the<em> Europ\u00e4ischen Mittelstandes (EV-KMU).<\/em> Ute Ohoven is the mother of four grown children.<\/p>\n<h2>Humanitarian Engagement<\/h2>\n<p>For over 30 years, Ute Ohoven has been committed to helping humanitarian causes.<\/p>\n<p>1988<br \/>\nCommitment to the treatment of children with cancer at the <em>Universit\u00e4tsklinikum<\/em> in D\u00fcsseldorf.\u00a0 Helped establish the first bone marrow donor registry in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>1992<br \/>\nNamed a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. \u00a0Her work takes on an international dimension.<\/p>\n<p>1994<br \/>\nNamed as sole Goodwill Ambassador for UNESCO\u2019s Education for Children in Need program. \u00a0Following her naming as Goodwill Ambassador by the former UNESCO General Director, Prof. Federico Mayor, she commits fully to this program and to education for children in need worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>2002<br \/>\nBegins her tenure as President of the <em>ZNS<\/em> \u2013 Hannelore Kohl Foundation.\u00a0Based on the invitation of former Chancellor Dr. Helmut Kohl, she becomes President of the <em>ZNS<\/em> \u2013 Hannelore Kohl Foundation.
