The Foundation finances its activities through donations and income generated by the Foundation\u00b4s assets. At the beginning of each financial year, the Foundation prepares a budget that serves as the basis for the administration of all income and expenditures. All financial decisions are based on this agreed upon budget.<\/p>\n

Within 3-4 months following the end of each financial year, the Foundation prepares the year-end financial statement. It is validated by an independent auditor who then documents his opinion. Within 9 months following the end of each financial year, the supervisory authority of the D\u00fcsseldorf District Government then prepares annual accounts, including an overview of the foundation\u00b4s assets, and a report on the fulfillment of the Foundation\u00b4s statues. The financial statement itself documents receipts and expenditures according to the net income method, as well as the assets of the Foundation.<\/p>\n

We inform our partners, supporters and donors annually how we used our funds and which projects were supported.<\/p>\n

Expense Structure<\/h2>\n

87,0 cents of every Euro donated directly reach the children and\/or our projects. The remaining 13,0 cents are needed to cover \u2013 amongst others \u2013 administrative expenses.<\/p>\n

Die Projektplanung<\/h3>\n

Die Stiftung setzt weltweit ausschlie\u00dflich Projekte um, die mit den Anforderungen jeweils nach Notwendigkeit der L\u00e4nder entwickelt werden und auf die Bed\u00fcrfnisse, den Mehrwert, dem traditionellen Grundstein der Gesellschaft angepasst werden und die Nachhaltigen Entwicklungsziele (SDGs) unterst\u00fctzen. Hauptfokus liegt auf der 2030-Bildungs-Agenda (2030 Educational Agenda). Die<\/span> Regierungen der L\u00e4nder werden in diese spezielle Projektarbeit mit eingebunden, um nach der Implementierung die Projekte zu \u00fcbernehmen und die Nachhaltigkeit zu sichern. Andere Projekte,  erhalten sich selbst und f\u00f6rdern zudem das Unternehmertum in den L\u00e4ndern.<\/p>\n

Die Projekte werden in Zusammenarbeit mit unseren lokalen Partnerorgansiationen umgesetzt. Dabei gehen wir wirkungsorientiert vor. Das hei\u00dft, dass wir Projekte von ihren Endzielen aufbauen. Was soll das Projekt bewirken, welche Projektziele wollen wir erreichen? Wie sieht die Zielgruppe bzw. es f\u00fcr die Beg\u00fcnstigten aus? Welche Ver\u00e4nderungen und Resultate wollen wir erreichen? Wir zielen auf messbare soziale Renditen durch soziales Investment. Die F\u00f6rderung und Realisierung weltweiter Programme, die auf inklusiver, gerechter Bildung und lebenslangem Lernen beruhen sind das erkl\u00e4rte Ziel von UNESCO-Sonderbotschafterin Ute-Henriette Ohoven.

Projektmonitoring und -kontrolle<\/h3>\n

W\u00e4hrend der Projektdurchf\u00fchrung unterliegen die Projekte einer regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Kontrolle. Die Projekte unterliegen dabei einem qualifizierten Berichtswesen. Halbj\u00e4hrlich werden die Projekt-Spender mit Projektberichten, KPIs (Indikatoren) und Fotomaterial \u00fcber Projektfortschriftte und die verwendeten Mittel informiert. Dar\u00fcber hinaus werden Mittel nur freigegeben, wenn die definierte Ziele erreicht und best\u00e4tigt wurden.<\/p>\n

Selbstverpflichtung<\/h2>\n

In allen L\u00e4ndern, in denen wir aktiv sind, setzen wir Selbstverpflichtungen und Verhaltenskodex zum Schutz von Kindern und Jugendlichen, Child-Protection-Policies ein.<\/p>\n

Die Durchsetzung der UN-Kinderrechtskonvention<\/a> ist f\u00fcr uns integraler Bestandteil des eigenen Handelns. Wir verpflichten uns daher auch im eigenen Arbeitszusammenhang wachsam zu sein gegen\u00fcber jeder Form von Kinderrechtsverletzungen, insbesondere der Misshandlung und Unterdr\u00fcckung von Kindern.<\/p>\n

Impact<\/h2>\n

Project Planning<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The foundation globally and exclusively only implements projects that have been developed in cooperation with and acknowledging the requirements of the specific national context. They are designed to have an impact addressing concrete needs while respecting traditional societal values. They regularly are aligned with and support the Sustainable Development Goals, with emphasis being placed on the 2030 Educational Agenda. In an effort to ensure the sustainability of projects following their implementation, national governments early on are asked for their approval, support and contribution. In some instances, projects can sustain themselves and even promote entrepreneurship in their countries.<\/p>\n

Projects are implemented in collaboration with local partner organisations. When designing a project, we begin by assessing its expected impact. What is the project expected to achieve? What project goals do we want to reach? Who will be the beneficiaries? What changes and results do can we reasonably expect? We aim for a quantifiable social dividend through social investment. The promotion and realization of global programs focussing on inclusive education accessible to all and lifelong learning is the stated objective of UNESCO Goodwill-Ambassador Ute-Henriette Ohoven.<\/p>\n

During their implementation projects are regularly controlled and are subjected to thorough reporting requirements. Every six month, the donors receive project updates, KPIs (indicators), foto material and information about the use of funds. The release of funds is contingent on confirmation that predefined objectives\/milestones were met.<\/p>\n
