      The project \u201cMeasures to Support the Resilience of Sahel Refugees in Mauritania\u201d<\/strong> includes support measures for refugees in the Mbera camp who have fled the Sahel – mostly from Mali – to escape war, terrorism, or famine. Young children, who have been in the camps for several weeks, are suffering tremendously, and there is a high risk of malnutrition.<\/p>\n

      • Improving access to drinking water and strengthening WASH<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Constructing new latrines<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Repairing water supply systems<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Supporting a school cafeteria and income-generating activities for women<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Cultivating vegetables<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        These measures directly improved hygiene, health, and dignity<\/strong> for the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n

        In addition, sustainable economic empowerment programs for women were implemented, with 128 women <\/strong>trained and equipped for income-generating activities:<\/p>\n

          \u201eHigh-Quality Education and Healthcare for the Children of Hriphi\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n

          In the mountain village of Hriphi, there were no schools and healthcare was not available.<\/p>\n

          The villagers themselves used tarps and makeshift materials to create a small space for their children\u2019s education, which, of course, did not allow for safe, regular, or high-quality instruction depending on the weather.<\/p>\n

          The following measures were implemented here:<\/p>\n

          • Construction of a school building with 6 classrooms<\/strong><\/li>\n
          • Training of 5 qualified teachers<\/strong><\/li>\n
          • Provision of school supplies, laptops, a solar power system, and equipment<\/strong><\/li>\n
          • Construction of a sports field<\/strong><\/li>\n
          • Construction and equipping of a health clinic<\/strong><\/li>\n
          • Hiring and training a qualified nurse <\/strong><\/li>\n
          • Ensuring adequate healthcare and training<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Over 100 children currently attend the school (more than 50% girls).<\/strong><\/p>\n

            The project in Hriphi has established a sustainable educational structure and medical infrastructure and has effectively contributed to the long-term development of the village.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

            The project \u201cSupporting Resilience: Improving the Livelihoods of Extremely Poor Women in the Buganda Community, Cibitoke Province<\/strong>\u201d began in June 2024. \u00a0Since then, approximately 600 women have started their own businesses – in various sectors such as food processing, animal husbandry, and tailoring – and now have a stable income and health cards for medical care.<\/p>\n
