They were able to successfully complete training and were benefited with the &#8220;self-sufficiency packages&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Background: Low skills and educational poverty of the people in the border region of Mali and Burkina Faso mean that poultry farming as well as vegetable cultivation are still in their infancy. Farmers encounter a number of recurring difficulties that further limit access to needed food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Climate change and the very limited nutritional knowledge of affected households also increase food insecurity and negatively affect the nutritional status of children in particular, with symptoms of malnutrition or undernutrition.
