I have been volunteering for the poorest of the poor since 1985. A personal experience made me make this promise to God back then and I continue my social work with daily commitment to this day.<\/p>

There are no boundaries for cultures, origins, skin color or religions.<\/p>

My belief in “those in the sun must help those in the shade” was passed on to me as a young girl by my father, who was also involved in social work at the time.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tI met Mother Teresa, Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1997. Mother Teresa’s appeal “It’s about YOU” – which was to be understood as a call for my charitable commitment in favor of needy and disadvantaged people. This meeting has shaped me to this day and has always encouraged me in my work. The appeal can now be found in the name of the foundation.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The world, the many challenges that reach us every day. The great need, the extremely poor, from famines to women who want to die because they have no milk for their babies, diseases that can be avoided, the major climate catastrophes even in countries that have contributed the least, child slavery in our century – all these are the disgraces of our time that must not go unnoticed. Only if we make a global difference can we keep our one world worth living in in the future.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOur incentive will be even more intense to create a safe and decent future for the poorest of the poor. Many countries are suffering terrible setbacks and the current wars, refugee movements, diseases, epidemics, impoverishment, environmental disasters and climatic changes require direct, rapid and concrete, sustained action.\r\n\r\nOur goal is to secure the development work as a sustainable investment. Countries that take responsibility and see development work not as a gift but as progress for their people and as a commitment are our target countries. We want to help individual countries – with an interested population hungry for education – to develop from within and fully support the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Yes, they will always exist. The world and its necessities and needs are changing, and at an ever faster pace. We move with the times and the needs of the local beneficiaries. All project steps are participatory right from the start, with all stakeholders and partners always involved in the development of the project, in all measures and activities on an equal footing. It would be unthinkable today to realize project work that “we” want….
